Plus Plans

Commonly referred to as fee-for-service or indemnity plans, Plus Plans set the in-network and out-of-network allowances at a negotiated network fee, or the Maximum Allowable Charge (MAC). In fact, many refer to these plans as MAC plans, too. Like a PPO plan, the allowances vary by coverage type (i.e. Class I – Preventative; Class II – Diagnostic; and Class III – Major Services).

What differentiates a Plus (or fee-for-service or indemnity or MAC) plan from other dental plans is that dental providers are reimbursed at the negotiated fee. This can translate into slightly higher costs for members and their dependents at the providers’ offices. However, Premier Access’ Plus plans are actually excellent cost-saving alternatives because monthly rates are significantly lower than PPO plans. That’s why Premier Access Plus plans equal cost savings!
